Exchange Stablecoin Reserves and On-Exchange Buying Power
Stablecoins deposited to exchanges are usually preparing to buy. On-exchange stablecoin reserves therefore approximate the market's ready buying power (ammo).
How to read it
- Reserves rising: more waiting buy-side capital, fuel for rallies — often leads or accompanies strength;
- Reserves falling: capital leaving or already deployed into coins, weaker upside;
- A reserve surge (large stablecoin inflow): buy-side building up, worth watching.
Pairing with BTC balances
Two opposite-direction signals together make a stronger frame:
- Falling BTC exchange balance (hodling) + rising stablecoin reserves (ample ammo) = supply contracting, demand ample — bullish backdrop;
- The reverse is a distribution backdrop.
Tip: data sources tag exchange addresses differently; watch trend and extremes, not absolutes. This is a macro-liquidity backdrop; time with NUPL sentiment and technical structure.
